Good Shepherd Ladies' Guild

This group meets every third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The women of our congregation are all invited to join us at our meetings or in any event or project we undertake. 

Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS)

LWMS is a nation-wide society of women dedicated to serving Jesus by increasing awareness of, interest in, and support of the mission outreach of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

As WELS women we believe that Jesus was speaking to each of us when he directed his disciples to "...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20) To this end we freely give of the time, talents, and treasures with which God has richly blessed us.

As a part of LWMS, Good Shepherd is also involved in numerous opportunities in the region and world-wide:
LWMS Rallies
LWMS Rallies are semi-annual gatherings where mission-minded women come together to encourage one another in spiritual growth and mission awareness. They are usually held in the spring and the fall. These are a wonderful opportunity to meet or join with women for worship, fellowship, and learning about missions at home and around the world.

There are 60 LWMS circuits and each circuit has the latitude to organize their circuit gatherings as will work best in their area. Some start with a Bible study while others enjoy hearing a mission speaker followed by study of the Word. While a business meeting is essential to conducting the business of the organization, the time is kept to a minimum to allow for more time to focus on mission and spiritual growth.
Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM)
CAMM celebrated its 50th year in 2011! The mission bulletin board at church also has updates about the mission and letters from the nurses. These hard working ladies and the people they care for certainly welcome our prayers and support. For more information on CAMM, visit their website.
"Befriend a Mission" Program
As part of LWMS, Good Shepherd congregation is in a "friendship" with a WELS missionary and his church/mission. We offer prayers on their behalf and encourage them with occasional cards and gifts. 

We keep updates from our missionaries on our mission board at church. LWMS also offers a prayer calendar which offers specific prayer needs for missionaries and their congregations. Our church keeps ours in our multipurpose room where we hold Bible studies.
Mite Boxes
These little boxes can be used  to collect spare change that we send in once or twice a year to LWMS (at rally time). The money  gets used for mission work. If you don’t have one started, there are some  available at church.
